‘High cost of doing business threatens industry’

THE Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI) says the cost of doing business in the country is threatening the performance of industry.

Speaking during an online discussion over the weekend, CZI chief executive officer Sekai Kuvarika said authorities needed to come up with measures to solve the ease of doing business in the country.

“Installation of solar, for example, we do have a challenge in the energy sector in the country and if one needs to put a solar plant, for anything from zero to 10 megawatts, the permission from the Zimbabwe Investment Development, Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority, Environment Management Authority and others would set you back plus or minus US$150 000…”
