SMALL-SCALE miners have applauded the government’s decision to reserve the artisanal mining sector, saying it will benefit impoverished communities.
The government recently announced plans to enforce reserved sector provisions under the indigenisation law, aiming to strengthen local economic empowerment.
In a statement, Emerging Miners Association of Zimbabwe (EMAZ) president Hyde Chatyoka welcomed the move, stating that reserving small-scale mining for indigenous Zimbabweans would foster economic development.
