ZIMBABWE’s mobile telecommunications sector has reached a new high, with the number of active mobile subscribers hitting 15,7 million in 2024, marking a 4,7 percent increase from 14,97 million in 2023, official figures show.
According to the latest industry statistics from the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe, the growth was largely driven by Econet Wireless Zimbabwe, which saw its active subscriptions grow by 8,5 percent to 11,3 million in 2024 from 10,4 million in 2023.
