THE country’s largest piping products manufacturer Proplastics anticipates demand for irrigation pipes, borehole casing and newly introduced tanks to improve, driven by drought mitigation-related projects.

The country is currently facing its worst drought in years, leading to increased investment in drought mitigation efforts, such as irrigation projects and borehole drilling.

Proplastics’ sales volumes for the quarter ended March 31, 2024 retreated 16 percent compared to the same period last year while revenue weakened 24 percent compared to the previous year’s revenue of US$ 5,448 million.
