BOTSWANA-HEADQUARTERED supermarket chain, Choppies, has sold its Zimbabwe franchise to Sai Mart owned by the deputy minister of Industry, Raj Modi.

This comes as Choppies last year announced that it was selling its Zimbabwe franchise and exiting the market due to economic challenges. In a statement on Wednesday, Choppies confirmed the changes.

“This serves to notify you that Choppies business in Zimbabwe has been sold to Sai Mart. Kindly note that business operations will continue as normal, without any disturbances…”
