HARARE City Council is in the process of installing prepaid and smart water meters for domestic and bulk users, mayor Jacob Mafume confirmed yesterday.
This comes as the council is seeking to procure at least 40 000 pre-paid metres at a cost of US$1,3 million.
“For us to deal with non-revenue water, we will have to adopt smart metering and pre-paid meters. Smart metering for our bulk users because we probably cannot enter into a pre-paid meter arrangement with our bulk users…”
