BRICK-making firm, Willdale Limited (Willdale) says it is grappling with unfair competition from non-complying industry rivals to the newly introduced Value Added Tax (VAT) on clay bricks.
The ZSE-listed company had a difficult half year to March 31, 2024 which was marred by persistent power cuts, high inflation, exchange rate fluctuations and low liquidity in the economy.
Just like in other industries, this adversely affected sales growth.
