THE Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe says endowments in lithium, nickel and platinum group metals (PGMs) can position the country to benefit from the anticipated demand for critical minerals.
Critical minerals such as copper, PGMs, lithium, nickel, cobalt and rare earth elements are essential components of today’s rapidly growing clean energy technologies – from wind turbines and electricity networks to electric vehicles.
Zimbabwe has several critical minerals underground yet to be harnessed with huge potential to develop the sector.
