FOLLOWING the reintroduction of Turkish tobacco farming last year as a pilot project, Zimbabwe is targeting 120 000 kilogrammes of the golden leaf this year.

Turkish tobacco, a natural air-cured type, was last grown in the country in 1965 and was reintroduced last year.

The Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board acting chief executive officer, Emmanuel Matsvaire yesterday said the board was striving to revive the industry and ensure it satisfied the global market.
