Zimbabwe’s corruption rate on the rise — report

TRANSPARENCY International Zimbabwe revealed yesterday that the country’s corruption rate is increasing, with the nation ranking 158 out of 180 nations in 2024.

This ranking is a decline from 2023, when Zimbabwe ranked 149 out of 180 countries. The 2024 Corruption Perception Index report, launched in Harare, confirmed this trend.

The executive director of TIZ, Tafadzwa Chikumbu, noted that Zimbabwe’s corruption rating dropped by three points, from 24 in 2023 to 21 points last year.
