THE Zimbabwe National Water Authority (Zinwa) has with immediate effect cut water supplies to the Beitbridge municipality after accumulating an outstanding bill of over US$2 million.

In a statement yesterday, Zinwa spokesperson Marjorie Munyonga said the payment pattern by the local authority was no longer sustainable.

“Due to this unsustainable payment pattern by Beitbridge Municipality, Zinwa is no longer in a position to meet the obligations associated with the consistent supply of raw water to Beitbridge, including electricity as well as repairs and maintenance…” Munyonga said.
